Curtain Call

I feel a little silly about being so tearful today..we have another happy place to be and I'm grateful for that, but still I'm so sad at the ending of this. its been a unique wonderful place filled with all the good stuff that made it the dysfunctional functional family we were..I shall miss it all. Because no matter where we go or gather ,the uniqueness of this family will be changed forever.

I just needed to acknowledge that...

Sooo goodbye to all of you that were .. the lurkers and stalkers, the lovers who became haters..the haters who became friends..and even those who didn't (whats the bet they will pop up where ever we are??) to my dearest friends for allowing me to be me, allowed me to rip open my soul once in a while and let you in, to all of you who wiped away my tears (more than once) and let me wipe theirs..and supported me regardless..and all of you who have entrusted me with your secrets, and who have guarded mine. Thank you for the laughter, the jokes shared at my and others expense, the late night pm's, the early morning pm's..the calls and texts that followed.

Thank you for sharing your music, and poetry and pictures, for the endless videos..funny and beautiful, for the sweet quotes and hilarious inappropriate ecards.

Thank you for flirting with me in a great feel good way, and making up for all the lost years here when I wasn't allowed to reciprocate :)

Thanks mostly for response in joining me in our new venture, thus ensuring that we will take the good from this and make it better..

Picture Perfect ~ Grand Finale

Welcome to Picture Perfect

I have struggled to find just 4 of my favourite pictures to post in this final PP theme on Multiply (sobs) many have the most wonderful memories for me its hard to select just a few.

My favourite pictures will always be those of my grandchildren..and there must be 4 million of those, so I had to choose just one of them and then of course there are another million of my visits home..LOL..anyhow I whittled them down to these.. As everyone else posts up their pictures, Im not surprised how many have posted pictures that have become synonomous with them..in my eyes anyhow :)

There has been an amazing commitment from a wide spectrum of people all over the world, to Picture Perfect over the past 6-7 yrs, from Yahoo360 to Multiply. Many close friendships have been formed as we meet week after week..theme after theme.

This is our last posting here on Multiply, from Friday next week we will be on Muzenews and Blogger only. I hope to see as many of you there as possible...as we move forward in a new place..with a new horizon!

This was a fly-by shot with my iphone, one of those moments when I really wished I had my Big Girl camera with me. The birds are gathering on all the wires alongside the I-5 and they fly across the road from side to side in huge swathes of motion and then all alight in the same spot, its quite spectacular. Not something I am used to seeing..or even thinking.. that they are flying South for winter sounds weird...lol..when where I come from they fly North!
It was a foggy morning, and the wires draped across the landscape seemed to appear out of nowhere as the thousands of bird alighted giving the wires shape and form as though paint had been poured on them.

It rained heavily and steadily during the night, and as I walked back to my car in the early hours, picking my way across the road where leaves were modge-podged onto the slick surface I just hoped the rain would give my fussy dogs who dont like their ears wet, a brief respite with time enough for little legs to stretch..

I hope your day was enjoyable :)

Arghhh...I hate being apart from you every day, but especially on your birthday. The days have melded into nights and time has passed sooo quickly, I cannot believe you are 16 already!! (and taller than me...lol)

You brought a soft quietness to my life on the day you were born, and thats grown and grown, you fill my life with love and fun and a ton of wonderful memories.

Have a wonderful day my boy, know that I love you and am thinking of you all day! Live your life just as youre doing, I wish you nothing more and nothing less than what you have and what you are.

Youre one amazing young man, and Im so glad youre a part of our family :))

10 suggested names for the new Civatar site POLL

We have small window of opportunity to change the name for the new site before it gets rolled out in the next few days, we need a catchy new name and so, based on pms, comments and suggestions, made on a blog on my site yesterday and today, a few of us have put together 10 names for you all to vote on. Many of the suggestions had already been taken unfortunately, but these below at the time of posting this poll, were all still available.

One vote per person. The poll will run for 24 hours, and the top 5 will be submitted to the Civatar admins.

We have loved Multiply, warts and all, so lets give the new site our support and here's hoping it becomes our permanent gathering place, a sweet place to hang our hats and call home.

Its a prickly subject ~ Naming Civatar

However lets knuckle down and see if we can come up with 10 alternatives to the Civatar admin chosen name shmoozezone, to poll...so we can give the core group at the test site Civatar 5 options, obviously then whatever they decide to do with it is up to them.

Their original choice ShmoozeZone will be a poll option. The name Civatar is not an option.

Calling ALL Creative Souls ~ re: Civatar name

We have been given a small window of opportunity!

Civatar is the name of the new site than has been set up by the very smart geeks and techie people amongst us. They have created a wonderful site with some awesome features..but they arent as creative as we are, not by half.. and after my little meltdown yesterday GeekGirl has kindly offered us a ONE time opportunity to come up with a fabulous, beautiful..creative alternative name for the site. The new site is being rolled out in few days..lets put our thinking caps on!!

Preferably ONE word..maybe two..something that is catchy! We have one chance for this..but I believe in you and said we would give it a go!

We need 5 really good names at least..

Lets do it! (before the lights go out)

Civatar has its new name...

and its SCHMOOZE

it means:

1 a gathering or time devoted to schmoozing

2 casual talk that is often gossipy or ingratiating

The name was decided by a handful of admins, it was never discussed with the rest of us, and it was not one of the many names suggested during the poll..

The name has been registered and the new site will be rolled out soon.

What are your thoughts on this, does the name affect your choice to blog there..or will you wait and see how well it works before deciding.
